Manufacturers recommend your air-con system is recharged with gas and lubricant every two years

This service is not part of routine vehicle servicing, so if your vehicle is more than two years old it is probably due a recharge. Aircon systems not fully recharged will be less effective and have to work harder putting more strain on the engine and using more fuel.

Auto Air Con Coventry offers a complete air conditioning recharge service. We can also include a system de-bug to clear bacterial build up from within the system, which will remove any unpleasant odours

HFO - 1234YF - The New Air Conditioning Standard

Developed in conjunction with major car manufacturers, HFO - 1234YF is the new, lower emission Air Conditioning refrigerant for all vehicles produced for EU countries from 2013. Our next generation 1234YF unit meets the highest standards in performance, safety and efficiency.

Auto Air Con Coventry will ensure your vehicle’s HFO-1234YF based air conditioning system is serviced and re-gassed in the most efficient and reliable way possible.

What about older vehicles?

Vehicles built before 2013 mostly use a refrigerant known as R134a in their air con systems. There is no requirement to convert cars built to run on R134a to use this new refrigerant, they may legally be recharged with R134a for the foreseeable future.

Our Guarantee

If we carry out a recharge to you vehicle's AC system and within 8 weeks you develop a leak, we will carry out a free* system recharge. This is subject to us carrying out all necessary repairs that your system requires prior to being recharged again.

We also offer up to a 2 year / 24,000 mile warranty on our repairs.

NOTE:
It is environmentally-unfriendly and illegal to put refrigerant into a vehicle if you know or suspect there to be a leak in it.

* Free system recharge offer only applies to R134a systems

Our Services

Air Con Recharging / Re Gas

Your vehicle’s air conditioning system can lose around 10% to 15% of its refrigerant each year. After three years without servicing, the system may have lost almost half of its gas.

When refrigerant levels are low, the air conditioning compressor has to work harder and run for longer to cool your vehicle. This can reduce performance and increase fuel consumption.

A low system is also more likely to let you down when you need it most, especially during hot weather. Without enough refrigerant, your air conditioning may struggle to reach the temperature needed to properly cool the interior.

The refrigerant also carries oil around the system to keep important components lubricated. Insufficient gas can mean insufficient lubrication, increasing the risk of costly compressor damage.

Our auto air conditioning re-gas service restores the correct refrigerant level, helping your system run efficiently and keep your vehicle cool.

"Great experience friendly staff. They were very efficient. I will be using them again. It helps that they are RAC and AA approved garage. That is one of the reasons I choose them. Until I got there and they were very friendly and knowledgeable. 5 out of 5"

"Great and quick service. Phoned on Monday, booked in for Tuesday and all fixed and ready for collection on Wednesday. The ladies on the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. Great communication with what the problem was and what the price would be to fix it - I even felt comfortable asking the mechanic questions and he didn’t make me feel like I was asking silly questions. I would definitely recommend this garage and use again! Thanks!"
